Helping Johnson Controls establish their first Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Battery factory in Shanghai, China.
Despite a workforce in China of several thousand employees, Johnson Controls North American group decided to outsource some of their first major battery plant project (for Hybrid and Electric vehicles) to Infinite Sum. Johnson Controls required Infinite Sum to support them in a number of functions including:
- Responsibility to transfer Johnson Controls proven quality system solution from their North American (Holland, MI) facility into the new Shanghai facility.
- Infinite Sums own technical team in China responsible for the initial production of proto-type batteries at the Shanghai facility.
- Responsibility to hire and train the initial production assembly staff at the Johnson Controls Shanghai facility.
- Provide Project Management consultants and local procurement consultants to support Johnson Control project start-up in China.
Infinite Sum installed a dedicated project team to be located at Johnson controls facilities in both North America and China. The team of multi-functional consultants from several countries, became integrated with Johnson Controls own expanded project team and essentially acted as members of Johnson Control.
Helped Johnson Controls establish their new Shanghai facility, meeting all objectives, on-time and within budget. This allowed Johnson Controls the ability to produce hybrid and electric vehicle batteries targeted specifically at the China owned automotive OEMs within the China market.
